Matt Kowalski
Matt grew up in Brisbane and completed his Optometry degree at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2008, graduating with First Class Honours. In 2012, he completed further training in Ocular Therapeutics at QUT, which allows him to prescribe pharmaceutical eye drops. Since then, he has worked at several optometry practices across Southeast Queensland, as well as completing a two-year placement in rural New Zealand.
Matt has a special interest in helping patients explore all aspects of contact lens wear—from the simple to the complex. He also enjoys staying up to date with the latest advancements in optometry, from cutting-edge spectacle lenses to state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. He takes pride in creating a calm, welcoming environment for his patients, getting to know them personally (not just their eyes), and clearly explaining all the information they need to make informed decisions about their eye care.
Matt has fond memories of family holidays in the 1990s to Alexandra Headland, Maroochydore, and Maleny, and he is delighted to now call the Sunshine Coast home. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, football/soccer, kayaking, and beach walks with his wife Louise (also an optometrist) and their puppy.
